ACPI battery monitor not working after upgrade to 7.5

I finally got to upgrading from 7.2 to 7.5 using the antiX-upgrader.sh script.

After the update, Conky was displaying"no ac_adapters, 0 %".

I tried modifying .conkyrc, but no changes I made helped, and many didn't show anything.

After all that, I decided to go looking around in /proc/acpi

I am not sure, but I think the virtual files that report battery status are missing.

Post your conkyrc, there may be other options.

This is the"out of the box" .conkyrc, except I tried using the optional parameter to specify which battery. I tried BAT0, BAT1, BAT2 through BAT9. Al yielded the same result.

I am running on an IBM ThinkPad A21m with PIII 750 MHz and 256 MB RAM.

I was using something similar in the past. when the kernel changed something went wrong. Here is what I did and it works for me:

Modify to your needs.

Hi,

I pasted in your conkyrc entry. It stills shows 0% (and a hollow bar).

Since /proc/acpi seems to be missing the battery status reporting 'files' , I am guessing that somehow antiX 7.5 is not detecting my laptop as a laptop.

I will try to find 'cheat codes' to use while booting

I tried adding acpi=force to the boot parameters. No change. I also tried acpi=on and just acpi. Neither of those worked. I checked my installed package and noted that laptop-detect is installed.

Anyone have any other ideas?
