I am trying to install AntiX 16 core from a USB to an internal drive. The subject computer is UEFI only - no legacy support.

I created the USB using rufus because unetbootin did not make a UEFI-bootable USB.

I am using dolphin's video for installing antiX 13 core. However it appears that he is installing onto a USB rather than from a USB. And it appears that is the way that the bootloader wants it to be done because it is searching only for USB and CD drives during the boot process.

So - The USB boots. I sign in as root. I enter the cli-installer. I select yes to repartition the drive, just to see what is there. The only thing that shows up is the USB drive (sda with partition sda1). I exit cli-installer. I type lsblk. The output shows the USB drive and the internal drive. I re-enter the cli-installer. I tell it I want root on the pre-existing internal drive partition. The output says Invalid, Retry?

What do I need to do?

Thanks!

My cli-installer was updated today on my AntiX 15 laptop install.
I don't think the live isos will have the updates I have incorporated till AntiX 16 is beta2 or final.

Here is a quote from Anti so you understand what I am talking about.
The script was trying to install directly to hda (as an example) rather than /dev/sda.

As I posted earlier, the script really needs a complete re-write to cater for UEFI for example. Still it does get the job done now thanks to your bug report.

Noticed your signature just now
Intel Compute Stick with Atom z3735f 1.3 GHz
I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not.

I'm actually using a virtualbox harddisk in the antiX core videos. And I think it was antiX 13 in the video.

is this update relatively recent? I just started playing with antiX-16-core last week, and I haven't got a successful install boot yet. I was going to try creating a X environment on a core live-usb, but I haven't rearranged things so that I have a wired connection yet (all of my wifi devices require non-free-firmware, which is of course a no-no with the core's libre kernel).

d_o make sure you get the latest cli-installer package. ie do an apt-get install cli-installer-antix. Then you will be able to install to hard drive (legacy only)
