Greetings. I am a Mepsi 11 user and while my experience with Mepis has been great overall, Mepsi 11 left me a bit disappointed. I am waiting for Mepis 12 and while doing so I am investigating other distros.

I had a look at Kubuntu 14 lts and it looks as being very similar to Mepis with a more streamlined graphical environment (the underwater theme is depressing me big time).

I was also specially impressed with xfce and I was considering Debian 7 as it comes OOTB with xfce.

I am also interested in Antix but I'm worried about it being based on testing and I did not like using the desktops offerings. Is Antix less stable than Mepis? Can I install it with xfce? and Kde?

Thanks,

Michel

I would say it has the same stabability as mepis (in general usage), yes you can install xfce and kde on antiX.
I have installed both through the command line (apt-get install) but there are also other options such as smxi and the meta package installer that make installing several window managers / desktop environments easy.

Just to add that if you install antiX now and change the default repos to wheezy, then it is as stable as Debian wheezy is now and will be for the next 3 years or so.

When will Antix 12 be fully debugged?

What do you mean by 'fully debugged'?
