Have used xdelta to upgrade from first release, and have not done a clean install yet, so I don't know if this is normal behavior or not.
I was looking at my menu.lst and was going to make a backup of it, I triple boot on this old machine and I like to keep a copy of the original menu.lst in case I bork something, anyway, I opened terminal, then sux, then rox so I could work in rox as root to make a backup of menu.lst, but when I clicked on the menu.lst, I got this error message

/usr/share/rox/Choices/MIME-types/text: line 2: exec: x-terminal-emulator: not found

exited from terminal, then used su, got the same error message,
funny thing is I exited terminal went to Files on the menu list went to boot, grub and clicked on menu.lst and it opens correctly, of course not being root, I could not save any changes to the file. Any help would be appreciated. BTW congrats on a great distro.

cheers

1.Open rox as root (as you did via sux) and navigate to the menu.lst file.
2. Right click on the file and click on"Set Run Action"
3. Type in leafpad, so it looks like this; (note the space between the d and")
leafpad"$@"

4. Close and then left-click on file.

The reason why this happens is that test versions of antiX-M7 had xterm installed, but the final hasn't. It has wterm. Alternatively, you could install xterm.

Thanks Anticapitalista,

Got the same error, and btw it is on all files, so I think I will dl the final and do a fresh install, I have done a lot of tweaks and really have not kept a good roadmap of what I have done and undone, so I think I will start fresh and do things in a orderly manner and document it, besides it is a great way to learn and I do love this distro, and am growing comfortable with the cli, rox and fluxbox. Thanks for the hard work and congrats to all who made this possible.

Guess my first post was not clear, I can open any file and view it using the Files menu, it opens leafpad, however, if you su or sux then as root run rox from the cli, rox opens, but I cannot view any file, I get the error contained in this image.

Look at anti's post again and make sure you did as it suggests. I was able to duplicate your error (excuse me for misunderstanding at first). By right-clicking a file --- any file in rox --- and setting the run action, the problem is solved......at least for me. Give it another go making sure to leave the space between the application (leafpad in this case) and the first quotation mark. If that doesn't work then I'll leave you alone. lol

Moron,

Thanks for the help, I did that the first time and it did not work, but I retried it, and it worked!!! Don't know what I did wrong the first time, but problem is solved. Thanks anticapitalista for the tip, and thanks Moron for your help. In addition to the great distros (Mepis & antiX), these forums make these distro's rock, no matter how incompetent the user is __{{emoticon}}__ , I always receive the help that I need to resolve any issue.

cheers
