I've been toying with the notion of an antix-core /antix-base set of videos. I've actually never set up my own antix-core, other than to test the cli installer way back when.

I have however made my own custom usb stick, which makes re-installing stuff soooo much easier. still a couple of bugs when you install from the custom usb, but they are quick to fix once you know about them. My current stick has my themes, wallpapers, video software, custom icewm menus, and the like ready to go.

Just watched your 13.2 from iso video and recommended AntiX to another LQ forum member who is wondering why his Debian Net install with KDE on 512MB of ram
is being hammered for swap.

Cool! When I have more time, I will view more of your videos! Thanks again for making them available and sharing your expertise from a visible viewpoint.

Dolphin. nice work with the videos. I'm trying to help by re-watching them because sometimes I forget things.

A HARDCORE Windows friend of mine asked me about a linux distro to try out. I sent her to your videos. Now she loves AntiX after she tried it.

Maybe it's that sexy voice that turns on older women. __{{emoticon}}__

Is it AntiX?

Or is it Auntie X ?

Does it matter, as long as
X hits the spot..

I've read that anticapitalista created the name - as free software integrators often do - as a"play on words", much as you have done, but in his case, I believe he was thinking of antics and also going against the common thinking, so most of the time, antiX is used and pronounced in that manner, but I believe it's also acceptable to think of it in terms of anti, then put an X afterward, as in"X marks the spot". However, I do believe that antics is the thought our friend came up with when he chose the name - is that right anticapitalista? __{{emoticon}}__ __{{emoticon}}__

I think masinick is on the money, and"antics" is how I've chosen to say it in the videos. i have the same problem with wicd and mate, although mate has an area in its wiki for the pronunciations (ma-tay).

Toe-may-toe or Toe-mah-toe?

It is still the best"little" Linux.

I'll chime in on the name.

1. As posted by masinick, yes, sounds like antics - fun, frivolous.

2. Also it can sound like antiques (if you put on a Greekish accent) ie for old boxes.

3. As also mentioned above, yes anti X ie against X in a very, very general sense. ie all the bloat that comes with an X desktop, with X being kde, gnome etc.

4. Finally and simply, it is anticapitalista's X distro. anticapitalista got shortened by masinick and others to anti many moons ago so it becomes anti'sX. But you have to remove the 's otherwise it sounds like the moral majority (sic) anti sex campaign.

So here is an antiX teaser.
