__{{emoticon}}__ Got back home. Did a Upgrade. Shoulda left well enough alone. Complete Terminal readout is in zip file.

Since Upgrade logout won't work from start menu or from quit button either. Reboot and Shutdown work OK. Gnome Mplayer quit working also.

Tried your suggestion Anti

Attatched terminal readout below

Noticed it said I don't have dpkg-reconfigure installed at end of readout.

This is not a bad problem yet. Just trying to figure it out is all. Glad I am home though. __{{emoticon}}__

Firstly purge wicd if you don't use it. If you do, you'll need to create a user called demo.
Then run apt-get -f install then apt-get update apt-get upgrade again

Use WICD. So I will make a demo user. I saw a thread somewhere on how to do that.

Will go looking. __{{emoticon}}__

Ok I think a got locales fixed. Anti pointed out there is a typo error wiith the = sign on above link sites commands.

Now to move to fixing WICD 1.7 and adding demo user I guess. Then will try another upgrade. __{{emoticon}}__ Sweating a little because I only have 4 gig SSD partition for / (root) and upgrading is shrinking it. Have 1.3 gig left on drive.

Ok. I added a demo user via AntiX Control Center Under Manage Users.

Did another apt-get upgrade. Only 14 mb of files. Went OK. Tested Logout after reboot. GUI Logout no worky. Start menu logout worked though. Haven't tried Gnome mplayer yet to test. Slowly straightening things out.

Yeah I am getting the maintainers version of slim Anti. I thought we accepted maintainers script except for torrent (which breaks). Saw in chat you telling some one else to accept maintainers version on upgrades is why. I used to just use the default NO till I read your comment. WOOOOOOPS. Ha Ha.

Time to check on how much space is left on 4 gig SSD. EDIT: 1.17 gig

Gnome Mplayer no worky . Tried to play music file (Black Label Society"Fire it up"

Gnome Mplayer just shows stopped.

I am attatching a screeny to show my preferences

Having a busy day with this upgrade. I would reinstall except I have a ton of customized
work done on this netbook like fstab, moving /home to sdb and symlinking it to sda with these 2 SSD drives. So I will keep putting along till I figure this out. __{{emoticon}}__

This is what I suggest.

1. Delete contents of/etc/apt.conf and /etc/apt/preferences.
2. apt-get update
3. apt-get upgrade

If things get fixed, ok. If not try

apt-get dist-upgrade (unless lots is going to be ripped out)

apt-get dist-upgrade fixed Gnome Mplayer Anti. But now I can't zip any text files in Pcmanfm 0.9.7 and in preferences I use file roller for compression. It worked before . I was wanting to zip up my last upgrade text file but this forum won't accept gzip I think which I know how to do from command line.

Running out of space also

Any hows pcmanfm now zips files again like in my earlier posts.

Just a small update today. Testing logout.

No logout working on GUI Window. But all other buttons (Shutdown, Restert, Hibernation, Sleep) work

On Start Menu. Logout takes me to a blank screen. On a hunch I typed in user name and password. Got my startup sound telling me I got to Desktop but screen remained black.

Anti. I haven't replaced /etc/slim.conf yet . So starting Fluxbox from init 3 boot with"startx fluxbox" gives me a fluxbox error that another Windows Manager is running and lock Fluxbox up so I can't test in Fluxbox yet. Guessing new etc/slim.conf might be the cause. Because F1 at slim login window does not give Rox Pinboard options anymore or many other Desktops that are in /home/xinit.rc. Don't know though.

Everything else seems to be sorted out OK. Most problems are"Solved" Will figure out logout also. But you guys are the best IMO and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Happy Trails, Rok.
