Asus Surf4G memory

I just installed antiX M11 486 to a ext4 partition on an SD card on my Asus 4G Surf mini-netbook. It's fast on this small pc and I like it. I did notice that only half my RAM is recognized, though. I upgraded the RAM to 2 GB and the BIOS shows 2 GB. However the free and top commands in antiX show that I have 903692k of RAM.

Can I change this?

My EEEpc 900 shows all 2 gig of ram in inxi -F readout. I only have 1 gig of ram on this EEEPc 701SD, that I transferred over from my 900, when I installed the 2 gig stick in it.

I'm updating M11 right now so I cannot run that command and year of updates is taking hours on this small pc. Maybe a new kernel will take care of this memory problem.

it's finally done upgrading but my memory isn't showing 2 GB...maybe I need to rebuild my kernel like you did. Here's inxi -F:

Maybe try the new 3.3 kernel Anti posted in the forum. I posted my 701 installing it and everything.
It works OK on my 701SD but mine is just a tad bit different 701 yours. Keep the 2.6.31 kernel in case

If you want to install the kernel and everything else is updated, download linux-image-3.3.5-antix.1-486-smp_3.3.5-antix.1-486-smp-10.00.Custom_i386.deb and as root
