Was wondering if anyone knew (knows) of a CLI spreadsheet program. Perhaps something like wordgrinder, but for spreadsheets. Thanks in advance.

I do not use any of these other than tapecalc occasionally, but ran across the info a while back when doing research for a project.

In the Debian Repo
sc
tapecalc

Wow thanks for the great reply SamK. I will check these out I tried sc already, but it seems abit hard on CPU usage for just a simple spreadsheet.

Wonder if Anti, et. al. would be interested in creating a (compact)"CLI" vsn. of Antix that would ship with popular console-based apps. I don't see anywhere that someone has bundled a fully-functional"console-based" Linux distro, but I've seen interests in using something like that on low-powered computers and in certain situations.

@OP do You need some sort of format compatibility?

I do most of my tables shi* at speed light (compared to gui) in vim + table-mode by Dhruvasagar which render *nice* tables in cli, html, pdf or else if needed. Does calculs though (I) need learning curve thoo.

Interesting thread, bookmarked __{{emoticon}}__
