Let's bring out issues. We should not ignore any potential issue, though we may not be able to solve everything at once, and we certainly do not solve anything when we quibble or share in a contentious manner.
I hope that we are collectively able to observe the concerns, consider each one, and weigh various technical solutions to potentially address as many of them as possible.
At times it may be difficult to do this and maintain the core features we've agreed upon during the planning stages of each release. Those who wish to have a certain feature are welcome to submit their suggested features. This doesn't guarantee their inclusion but does put them on the list, which is then discussed, based on the priority of the development and the themes of emphasis.

Base does include a GUI. Core includes only the kernel and essential utilities to build everything else. It doesn't take much more if you install the correct packages, beginning with the X server and the GUI you want to include.
