Firefox is too big for screen

Hi all,

I have a problem with FF3 (Iceweasel) in that it is too big for the screen, i.e. I can't see the minimise, maximise, close buttons on the top bar, nor can I see the bottom bar in which I have Forecastfox running. I can only see these items when I do an alt-left click combination and move the page up or down. Has anyone any ideas on how to resolve this? It doesn't happen in AntiX 7.2 by the way.

By any chance, is the display resolution that you are using right now really low (like 640x480 or even 800x600?) It could be that the display that you have selected makes it difficult to get much significant content into the available real estate.

Short answer is no! Same PC has AntiX 7.2 and 7.5 installed, only versions of iceweasel are different. If no one else has this problem it is obviously something my end. Thanks for reply.

You can right-click on the top bar of FF (with the application name in it) and set the size that way, if you can see it. I'm not in antiX now, so I can't tell you the exact steps. But it's something like remember the window size, and then just set the size you want FF to open.

Right, thanks for the replies. I am not in fullscreen. I cannot change the size of Firefox, only drag it up or down using alt, click. It is very puzzling as all other apps seem to behave normally. not sure what the screen resolution is, but it is a 19" LCD monitor and is the same resolution I use in AntiX 7.2.

I had a similar problem when running antiX 7.0 (now with 7.5 all is well). In my case, it was a fluxbox issue. When I shifted to icewm, the window dimensions stabilized. So just for diagnostic purposes, see what happens when you switch to icewm (I'm assuming you're in fluxbox by default). Any difference?
