Hello antiX,

I'm an old time unix person who was turned to the ms windows darkside back in the late 90s. I've come back to linux in the last year or so. I'm running Ubuntu Studio as my default system, but resurrecting a few old machines, including an old Sony Vaio PCG-F400 (originally WinME).

I've recently tried Sabayon & Salix, and I found antiX M8.5 and liked it. Just switched to M11pt1 as I was having problems with localisation : wanted lang=en but kbd=fr (azerty) and just couldn't seem to do both with M8.5.

Got a few problems with M11, but will find appropriate place to post. I hope to be able to help with testing etc. in future.

Welcome to antiX,

Good group of people here, antiX is great on older boxes and just flies on newer ones, it is very configurable, you can run stable to bleeding edge.

cheers,

I have AntiX 11 testing and 8.5 upgrade installed on older IBM M41 wireless Desktop.
I have 8.5 upgrade installed on everything from EEEPC 701SD,EEEPC 900, IBM T23 Lappy, and also on a IBM A22m 1000 hz, 256MB Ram, 20 Gig Hard Drive.

Sound works on all my gear by the way as well as Wireless from USB, PCMCIA Cardbus, and internal pci wireless. Even on the dual core Acer Aspire that boots from persistent pendrive.

Howdy and Welcome again to the forums. __{{emoticon}}__
