Hello forum,

when I edit the fluxboxmenu and save it, the message appears"can't write".
I tried as root, but in terminal after sudo su it will not accept the password.

thanks, dirteur

Firstly antiX doesn't use sudo. Use su or sux plus your root password.

Which fluxbox menu doesn't open?

Where are you editing the menu from? It should be edited from the menu itself. You don't need to root to edit it.

Right click>>fluxbox>File editing>> Menu.

for root access in a terminal just type 'su' and enter password.

I think he is trying to edit (rather than copy/paste from) the menu at etc/X11/Fluxbox.

You shouldn't have to copy and paste. If you installed an app you choose what catagorie and add it to the end of the section. No root, just as a user.

I believe he is referring to a post from anti which said:

Another trick is after installing an app, go to /etc/X11/fluxbox and look at the fluxbox-menu file. It will have the line for the newly installed app, that you can simply copy/paste into the default antiX menu file.

I agree that you don't have to copy/paste from anything. However, it was fun to poke around the"master" fluxbox menu to see how it looked there (icons to the left in the menu, etc.) It also shows any extra parameters that might be needed.
