How I went about installing the above 2 applications. First I installed these 2

Code: Select all

harry@biker:~
$ apt-cache policy python-pip
python-pip:
  Installed: 1.5.6-5
  Candidate: 1.5.6-5
  Version table:
 *** 1.5.6-5 0
        500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
harry@biker:~
$ apt-cache policy python-dev
python-dev:
  Installed: 2.7.9-1
  Candidate: 2.7.9-1
  Version table:
 *** 2.7.9-1 0
        500 http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ jessie/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
So I could install both applications just using pip.

Code: Select all

sudo pip install glances

Code: Select all

sudo pip install mps
Glances and MPS is launched from command line like so as user

Code: Select all

glances

Code: Select all

mps
Glances screeny > Fully featured system monitor like top or htop

you'll need to install pip. apt-cache policy commands just show the package, not install.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install python-pip python-dev
and then

Code: Select all

sudo pip install mps
sudo pip install glances
Note that glances is available in the repos already (synaptic)

Code: Select all

 sudo apt-get install glances

Thanks!
I install it already, only from here the Australian server very sluggish, 18.6 MB date 40 minutes.

product:
Creating system user 'glances'.
"[....]" Starting Glances server: glances [info] Not starting glances: disabled by -etc-default-glances..
The processing of activating ones: systemd (215-17+deb8u2) ...

Hardly use glances. Use MPS mostly.

Good the glances name system monitoring, but that let the paid computing capacity not be wasted:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install boinc
