Hello,
Im new to antiX and still new to Linux for some time more. It would be perfect for me to have some geek as a friend for sharing the passion for Linux and learn quicker, but it is not like that. I will need to do some stupid questions sometimes in this forum __{{emoticon}}__ -after googling-

I think -maybe Im wrong, you tell me- that antiX means anti-GUI, so it is pro-CLI and I choose antiX for that. I like commands, curses interfaces and terminals. The applications and WMs that antiX has makes it an excellent distro for beginners like me with the goal of using the CLI someday. I am slow for learning these technical things, but I really enjoy it every day and I am happy of the existence of antiX. Thanks!

Welcome McX to antiX.

I would say that antiX isn't really anti-GUI, but more pro-CLI. There is a thread about going completely X-less by pedro. It is fun and a great learning experience.

Howdy and Welcome McX. Lots of good info in the help section of menu in AntiX. Members here have gone through a lot of work to make AntiX easy to understand.

Happy Trails, Rok

McX,

Welcome to Antix! It's a great system to both use and learn linux, so feel free to post questions and comments to the forum. Some one will try to help.

Regards,

Pedro

Thanks for the welcome!
I've spent all day playing with antiX. Everything is configured more pro-cli than in #!Crunchbang that has the look of being that (#! was my first distro some months ago) and about configuring Fluxbox (my favorite wm) much easier than in Linux Mint Fluxbox that is meant to be for beginners.
I've seen the work of Pedro and I really like it a lot!
