Hello to all the other linux-users here in this forum!

First I want to thank you for all the good work that has been made so far, I want to thank the Antix-team and of course the Mepis-team for their great work.

I am using Antix as a live system, on a 1200 Duron-Machine, and am very happy with the performance of the system. Main task is surfing the Internet, and printing via Postscript, files are directly send to the printer.

Using"marek edelmann", I have noticed a higher ground cpu-load with"sleeping desktop"(i.e.no applications opened) as compared to Antix 8.2.
In version 8.5 the ground cpu-load is about 15 %, whereas in 8.2 the load is only about 5 %, on exactly the same machine.

As a (possible) result of this higher load, the flash-player plugin on Iceape is now slightly stumbling (means not running smoothly) on Antix 8.5, but in 8.2 the flash-player runs without hesitation on the same machine.

My proposal therefore is: is it possible to make two branches of Antix in the future: one for laptops, and the other for desktop machines?
In the laptop branch, more"daemons" could be activated in the base form, whereas in the"desktop branch" fewer daemons could run, simply because they are not needed by this form of computer (for example the"evdev" daemon may be not absolutely necessary for a desktop-computer ,is this right?)
Thankyou
