For the love of mike will someone please tell me in plain english how to reset the background color in Geany!

After upgrading to Geany 0.21 I have an unreadable green screen.
I know it's in a config file but when i change it nothing happens, the green screen will not go away.
I'm afraid your going to have to walk me thru this, after trying it myself with out success.

Not sure, but try deleting all the contents of .config/geany in your home directory.

Save a copy first though.

Sure it was geany that caused the green screen?

As far as I know.
I installed the debugger plugin which needed to upgrade Geany to 0.21 version in order to be compatible.
I suppose I could try and un-install the plugin and see if that makes a difference, also I wonder if I can re-installing the older version.

EDIT:
Uninstalling the plugin does nothing.
There is something wrong with version 0.21 altering the config files doesn't seem to change anything.
I think I need to re-install the older version, think it was 0.16, if I can figure out how to do that would be great.
Unless some can give ma a blow by blow on how to alter the config files, cause I'm really not sure I'm doing it right, plus I'm pretty sure 0xffffff is the code for white and that is what the default values for the background are set in the config file as far as I can tell.

EDIT2:
I uninstalled the 0.21 version and found a .deb file for the 0.19 version from the debian stable repo.
No more green screen, all is well. There is something definitely wrong with the 0.21 version, at least on my system.
Anybody else having the same problem I recommend doing what i did, install an older version.
