This works so far that the content of the shoutbox vanishes and therefore you don't accidentally scroll in there instead scrolling the page. At least that's better than before, halfway solved, thanks.

But the shoutbox itself remains and occupies a huge portion of page space so that you have to scroll down to see the thread __{{emoticon}}__ .

I finally found a solution: the Stylebot addon for chrome/chromium. With it you can click the whole box and select"hide" __{{emoticon}}__ .
