I read somewhere that 686 kernels will boot a K6-2 AMD processor.
Could someone with one try it out for me please.
TIA

Hello,

We tested Lysistrata on a amd k6-2 IBM desktop computer, it hanged up at boot with"PANIC : cpu too old for this kernel" message.

That's it !

Thanks for the feedback melodie.

I thought that would be the message, but hoped that maybe a k6-2 would boot. I t seems it won't with antiX Lysistrata.

I tried installing antiX on an old HP K6 -2 w/ 256 MB RAM but was unsuccessful. It would not even load as a live cd.

My K6-2 (Compaq Presario 5480) had the same result as Melodie ("cpu too old ..." message). So, it's running antiX 6.5. __{{emoticon}}__

antiX-M7 is one of seven boot options on my main computer (homebuilt AMD Athlon).
