Since Iceweasel is too much for this old machine (and so is Synaptic O.O), I decided to install Kazehakase. Unfortunately, I get this error when installing.
kazehakase:
Depends: libatk1.0-0 (>=1.20.0) but 1.18.0-2mepis1 is to be installed
Depends: libgtk2-ruby but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libgtk2.0-0 (>=2.12.0) but 2.10.13-1mepis1 is to be installed
Depends: libpango1.0-0 (>=1.18.4) but 1.18.2-1 is to be installed

Any clues on how to resolve this?
If I download the .deb from the kazehakase site, will I get the same issues?

Firstly, welcome to antix.

I presume you are using antiX-M7 or antiX-M7.01

In that case, check that the Mepis repos are disabled from /etc/apt/sources.list or in synaptic. Once they are do an apt-get upgrade in a terminal or from synaptic reload and then try to install kazehakase.

The newest (presently testing version of antiX , antiX-M7.2-preview1) installs kazehakase with a simple apt-get install kazehakase.

Ok, that worked.
I heard somewhere that MEPIS was switching out of Ubuntu repos because of breakage, so I guess this has something to do with it.
Thanks a lot for the help __{{emoticon}}__
