has anyone tried out LightDM in AntiX as a replacement for Slim, which is no longer being maintained? Also how to configure LightDM to work with AntiX as well as setting up the themes within LightDM to match the AntiX themes

giving it a quick look over, it looks like it finds its sessions from /usr/share/xsessions. It seems you would need to make another .desktop file in this directory to add a session. If you wanted to run the session as it does in the .xinitrc file included in antix, you would need to point the Exec= line to an similar script.

LightDM is a display manager not a window manager

LightDM is an ubuntu product, I believe. I doubt it's very hard to make work with antix.

SLiM is still being maintained also.

Hmm...never seen LightDM being solely a Ubuntu product as this package is also in the mainline Debian repos.

Haven't seen much activity on SliM though. The most important thing then needs to be done is add full Consolekit/PolicyKit support to it as right now Slim's broken in that regard
