How do I change the default window manager from icewm to fluxbox in Antix 8. It's a great distro but I find that icewm looks rather"clunky" compared to the clean and simple fluxbox set up.

Hello:

this worked for me. change the last line of .xinitrc (as root) from

*)
exec ice-wm session
;;

to

*)
exec startfluxbox
;;

I hope it works for you.

You don't need to be root to edit .xinitrc as it's in your /home/user folder. An easy way to edit the file is to do

control center > desktop > edit login options
