A couple more inquiries about mounting devices...

- Some ROX desktop set-ups will show a device icon only when the device is detected (no icon when no CD, for example). And they seem to know whether or not to draw a USB icon or CD icon.

Any idea on how to set this up?

- My eject functionality is broken in AntiX. Can’t use it from ROX, or do it physically after device is unmounted. Checked ROX Options, all looks good.

Again, any ideas?

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!

Puppy linux has icons that appear on the desktop when a device is plugged in. I tried to port that idea to antix, but could not. Puppy is always run as root and therefore some of their tricks won't work in other distros.

As for eject, check to see if it is installed. If it is, then it may be a permissions problem.

On way is to plug in your device, go to /mount or /media where it gets automounted and drag that icon to the rox desktop.
