How about opening rox terminal and posting the outputs of

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxx
and

Code: Select all

lsusb
and

Code: Select all

sudo ifconfig -a
That should pretty cover supplying enough info so members can assist you on wifi usb.

Ok. I run one of these on my IBM T23 pcmcia slot instead of using a usb wifi device, It is wireless N capable and china ships worldwide for free.

Also. Can you get access to a external keyboard from a desktop computer and plug it into your laptop?

Lastly. Researching your info given already. It seems rasberry pi runs that usb wifi N ok. from <translated to english>

Wifi usb is detected. A driver is loaded. Just open Wicd in antix control control center> network > connect with wicd..

Hit the refresh button if needed. Connect right up wirelessly.

Go into wicd preferences and make sure

Code: Select all

wlan0
is in the wireless section box. If not. Type it in there. Then hit refresh and see if it is still empty.

=>Go into wicd preferences and make sure I

do not see"preferences" in wcid

I have network => choose network => ad hoc
that say
ESSID : My_Adhoc_Network
IP : 169.254.12.10
canal : 3

That says WEP only !
My livebox (orange) is WAP... I can change it to WEP but I am not shure it will work outside of my home.
