Hi, new to AntiX & running it on a Presario 900 laptop. Is there a battery level indicator available - can this be displayed in the 'text' graphic as the CPU% & memory stats are. Also I wish to connect to my LAN which is Linux & window mix - but I am unable to find a 'places or network' icon - this laptop has the default install. I want to connect to the opensuse box on my LAN (which I have no problems doing from the XP box) What do I need to install.

BTW I'm new to Linux as well

Thanks for your time..

This thread actually should answer both your questions. It is on using conky for a battery monitor, but eriefisher also links to the thread that tells how to use fusesmb and samba for your network.

This thread also has some other ways of accessing your network:

And welcome!
