I have mepis antix 6.5 installed on a R31 thinkpad notebook and it works great, so I tried the new mepis antix 7m and my mouse cursor has a mind of it's own, totatally uncontrollable, it goes all over and clicks all kinds of stuff by it's self.

Antix 6.5 is the only distro that doesn't do this,I have tried all kinds of other the regular mepis, pclinux, mint, kubuntu, ubuntu, and the also do the mouse out of control thing,so i been waiiting for this release of antix7m ,but it also does the same thing with the cursor.

does anyone else have this problem and if so did you get it fixed ? and if you did just what did you do to fix it?

Sorry if this is in wrong area...

You might want to have a look at gsynaptics, ksynaptics or qsynaptics. They will all help configure your touch pad.

Found link to hopefully fix problem with cursor, kind of would hope someone would put this post in the proper section for me,it was not there when I first posted.

Anyhow apparently noone has had this problem, the fix below(or hopefull fix) is from ubuntu kernel 2.6.22 so it is pretty much same kernel,I do not reALLY UNDERSTANT THE FIX,SEEMS TO BE EASY ENOUGH. HARD PARD IS THAT WHEN THE MOUSE STARTS CLICKING BY ITS SELF IT WILL USUALL SHUT DOWN BY ITS SELF BEFORE I CAN GET IT DONE. fin caps lock...

It was this type of problem that made me dump Kubuntu. Every time there was an update or new release they forgot about the previous issues and pushed them through. Sometime never fixing the issue at all.

One big example---SAMBA----. They never had any problems introducing new features but there were a lot of past issues never resolved.
