The following is an article from the Linux Foundation of how to install Crouton on a Chromebook. __{{emoticon}}__

I love my chromebook. I might try crouton. I actually made a custom MX usb stick that will boot live w/ persistence and still have the trackpad and audio enabled (required a patched 3.16 kernel). The only downside to the chromebook is that there is no local lan access, so network shares are not accessible.

My C710 is staying straight ChromeOS because I have not even learned to be proficient using that operating system yet. My brain has enough multi-tasking going on with it. Besides/ 16 gig ssd is pretty small for a hard drive. I'd have to change it out and have no wish yet to do so.
It worked nicely on my trip to Austin though.

I paid 80 bucks for mine (free shipping) refurbished ,just a open box return), jdmeaux1952, back when the c720s came out. It was like brand new and gets good battery life. The price for one has gone up since I had found that window of opportunity sale price.

Crouton repos have Debian and Ubuntu images. No AntiX images that I know of. So systemd on a Chromebook if running Crouton.
Do you have a link to what Crouton repos hold? jdmeaux1952.

Cuz I cannot find it with my search skills. __{{emoticon}}__

Some multi-tasking take too much brain power. I had simply received one of my e-mails from the Linux Foundation about this and read it. I just thought I would pass it on.

Somewhere I did read an article how some guy had installed a straight Debian linux onto his Chromebook. But I can't remember where. (That head shot I took in the accident really screwed up my head.)

Here's a couple of articles of how to's about others installing Linux on their Chromebook. The biggest thing I did notice is that you can't do it if the Chromebook has the ARM chip instead of Intel.
