How do I keep antiX Linux fully updated? I'm sure that the Debian base is supposed to be updated regularly, right?

apt-get update followed by apt-get dist-upgrade

Even after setting Synaptic to ignore recommended packages and with priority set to Debian stable packages (instead of testing), apt-get dist-upgrade wants to download hundreds of new packages and 410 MB of additional disk space. Can this be right? I can't believe that antiX Linux balloons by something like 25% just to update everything.

If you want just stable, remove or comment out the Testing repos and change stable to squeeze
