Maybe the upgrade messed up locales for language and a new slim.config file got installed.

Post contents of these files
/etc/slim.conf
/etc/default/locale

LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8

strange in root rox speak french and in user rox speak english.
and my toolbar change her language too.

For the language problem do this in a terminal as root:

echo"export LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8" >>/etc/profile
then logout/login.

For slim there are 2 entries for auto_login yes
Remove one.

(Though I think the upgrade of slim has 'broken' the auto-login function) __{{emoticon}}__

Thank you for the language all went ok.

For slim perhaps I change for gdm.

Regards.
