Well, I'm trying out rc1 and I'm liking it so far, but I'm having a bit of trouble with my loading my Nvidia driver.

I get the same with MEPIS and Debian kernel.
It must be a bug in sgfxi.

You could install the liquorix or sidux kernel. Both work on my box. (liquorix is better IMO)

You can use smxi for this. Before doing so, install firmware-linux-nonfree (if not already installed).
If you get an error with installing firmware-linux-nonfree, do

dpkg -i --force-overwrite /var/cache/apt/archives/firmware-linux-nonfree*.deb

Hello everyone,

I tried to install the liquorix kernel using smxi, but I am sure that I am doing something wrong. Do I need to enable the liquorix repo first? After using smxi, my kernel was still the original AntiX kernel as per the conkey. Should I be seeing something different? Or was I looking in the wrong place.

....Yeah I know that I'm clueless.

if the kernel installed properly and the grub list updated properly, then the new kernel should be an option in your grub menu.
In a terminal, as root, try update-grub, then reboot and see if the kernel was installed.
Yes, you need to open the liquorix repo first.

Okay, I added the liquorix repo, apt-get update, went to Wiki and fixed ( I think) the No_Pubkey thing, then I went into SMXI and I'm pretty sure I followed the directions as I went along. Any thoughts on where I could have messed up? I realized that it could have been anywhere. Oh I did update the grub too. Are there any common Newbie mistakes?

Are you using the antiX grub menu or are you dual-booting?

Have a look in /boot/grub/menu.lst
Does the liquorix kernel show up?

Ah, are you using testing repos or only stable?
I think liquorix kernel needs testing repos enabled.

Firstly, replace the wicd stuff.

apt-get purge wicd* (that should get rid of all of it)
deborphan | xargs apt-get -y remove
COLUMNS=200 dpkg -l |grep ^rc |awk '{print $2} ' | xargs dpkg -P

apt-get clean
apt-get update
apt-get install wicd (it should install fine now)

Reboot, and at menu, scroll down to see the first Debian entry with the liquorix kernel. Does it boot?

Thanks for your help. I am multibooting. On my box I have both a SATA drive and IDE HD. The SATA has M8.4.95 and M8.0.15 and on the IDE I have AntiX 8.5rc_4.

When I
apt-get purge wicd*

apt-get clean doesn't do anything. apt-update is good, but when I reinstall wicd I have this problem.
