Sound Problems

So, I just got this IBM ThinkPad, and I have installed antiX 7. I, however, am getting so sound. I've looked through some forums, but I am a bit lost. I have run alsaconf, and the volume is up on the mixer; yet, silence persists. The card here is an Intel 82801CA with Cirrus Logic CS4299 chipset.

I know not what to do next. I don't think there is a hardware problem, so maybe I am going deaf. No, I hear traffic passing. Any ideas?

Peace,

Nick

Hey Nick, welcome to antiX.

Haven't got an answer to your problem directly, but this thread

on the Ubuntu forums. It certainly helped me a number of times when i had sound problems, and being based on Ubuntu (Debian) it should be OK for antiX, especially if you don't get any luck with the Mepis document.

Also you could try the Debian forums

Thanks everyone. The procedure described on the Mepis forum seems to have solved the problem. It is sounding pretty good.

Thanks again!
