Startpage (

) is a multi-search site that has the outstanding feature of not tracking the user identity (IP and cookies)*.
It can be set as the default search plugin in Iceape. If we go to their site it won't recognize Iceape as being Seamonkey, I've even sent a message to them through their contact form about that (they have Iceweasel listed). But I booted to Windows and installed the plugin in Seamonkey then copied it to Iceape and I'm attaching it here for anyone that would like to use it.
Unzip the file, put the folder in ~/.mozilla/seamonkey/xxxxxxxx.default/searchplugins then hit F9 in Iceape, choose Startpage instead of Google as the search engine and accept it as the default.
*You may have to enable cookies for it to keep your preferences but they are anonymous. non-tracking cookies.

I am thinking of trying your tip out secipolla. I am wondering ( I do that alot __{{emoticon}}__ ) . Ya know how in IceApe you have the Chat feature. I go to #puppylinux and #mepis (quiet there) using it and lurk there sometimes. the puppy irc is entertaining sometimes with the stuff that goes on in there. Will doing this hide my IP in that also. Probably not but as I said,"I was wondering"

No roky. Only Startpage itself doesn't record you IP.
Google and other search sites record who's searching what by tracking the IP and their tracking cookies and they make a lot of money by selling this information. Startpage makes money only with the ads they have on the page so I disable Adblock Plus in their site (it's enabled in the screenshot because I was just knowing it).
But they do have a proxy feature that enables anonymous browsing. If you click on the 'Proxy' link at their results page they fetch the site with their servers and you browse anonymously (posting comments and other features then are disabled where you go though).
Also it's working very well for me (I'm making it default in all my browsers). It doesn't use Google's search (guess why ... maybe Google doesn't like them) but for what I've searched so far the results have been even more relevant.
