Thanks for a great OS. This old lap was hidden in a closet for years and considered unusable. When I read about AntiX and Mepis, I thought there might be hope to revive it.
The machine is a Toshiba Tecra 8000 with a Pentium II running at 366 MHz and 192K memory. With other operating systems (Linux or Windows) it was very sluggish, and either the sound or video was not supported. But with AntiX/Mepis, all is working very well with the default installation.
I was amazed that I could boot from CD and surf the web while waiting for the install to finish. This old machine has not worked this well in a long time.
