When logging into Liquorix 2.6.35 kernel updated through smxi, I get a"unable to resolve login message loop no matter which F1 Desktop I choose. I am attaching /var/log/slim.log and /var/log/smxi.log below. This is with a fresh install of AntiX 8.5 Full Upgrade ISO today. I ran the dist-upgrade in smxi also to use Sid/Sidux so as to not make any mistakes (or so I thought)

This is a test install. So no big deal as I can still boot into Mepis 2.6.32.1 Kernel for right now. No big hurry on seeing what went wrong guys. But I am kinda lost as usual on this.

I got the same on a Virtualbox install, but on my hard drive the latest kernel works ok. Try using the latest 2.6.34 liquorix one instead.

Tried the 2.6.34 liquorix kernel meta package in smxi Anti. Still get the login error at slim with it also. Still login ok with 2.6.32.1 Mepis one though. Just for info.

EEER, Tried googling debian slim unable to resolve login. Did not see much on it. Am thinking of installing GDM and either break this install or fix it with another login manager,

Wellll. GDM logged me into both kernels but into a failsafe Icewm session because udev is having a hissy fit by not mounting my /dev/hdd6 /home partition which terminal complains about also.

I see a quick scroll by of changing the kernel line (about 4 error messages) but it scrolls to fast for me to write it down, I can't start iceape in either failsafe modes because /dev.hdd6 /home isn't picked up by 2.6.34 or 2.6.35 kernel.

However i go into gparted as root and it shows it as mounted. Weird? Probably gonna go with a reinstall and go with Stevos Vanilla Kernel at Mepis lovers since Liquorix and me don't play well together.

Can't say I did not try though. Dinner time. __{{emoticon}}__

Long story short. Uninstalled all Liqourix Kernels using smxi. Unstalled GDM also. /boot/grub/menu.lst now shows this. Still have Sidux repos enabled. Booting off of Slim Login Manager again. So far no need for a reinstall. I'll probably comment out the Sidux repos is /etc/apt/sources.list next.

Sorta went the long way around of updating kernel but slim logs in fine with it and system works ok. Wheeeeeew. __{{emoticon}}__

Commented out Sidux in /etc/apt/sources.list also. Hopefully I am Ok with new install now.

Running this new Antix install with rox-pinboard Icewm with rotating Desktop every 1 minute. Been a long day.
