I started to ask this question as part of another thread, but that went away from upgrading and into fixing the outstanding issues.

However, now I am ready to ask this again.

What sources.list changes do I need to make and what packages do I need to change to upgrade a"current" 8.2 system to 8.5?

Thanks,
Brian

The Release Notes also contain instructions for users who are upgrading from prior releases

I'm confused. What do Debian release notes have to do with antiX?

AntiX is based on Debian.

Agreed, but I am interested in the specific changes that I need to make to upgrade from one antiX to another.

I made the mistake of allowing Debian to take over this machine in the past few days and completely lost any antiX flavour, and have just had to rebuild from scratch.

I don't know specific steps that you want. Never had to upgrade the way you want to.

Unfortunately, this machine won't read any disks that I make by myself, but is perfectly happy reading commercial disks, so I have had to start with a commercial disk that has 8.2 on it, but I would like to upgrade.

Possibly aptitude dist-upgrade ( apt dist-upgrade ) might do the trick, but I suspect that I need to get the repositories right first.

There is a thread somewhere here that details how to upgrade 8.2 to 8.5, but I can't find it at the moment.

It is not a simple apt-get dist-upgrade unfortunately. A new udev gets updated and that needs a newer kernel than in 8.2. The 2.6.32 or later kernels from MEPIS or liquorix should be ok.

Found it:

But also look at

known issues.

This will not turn your antiX-M8.2 into an exact antiX-M8.5 though.
