I'm comfy with fluxbox or icewm.

Seeing as icewm is default at login I use that most.

Any idea on how to set fluxbox to be default?

Use Icewm the most. But I like it that Fluxbox is available and already configured.

I was using fluxbox exclusively in my boxes. I also have Antix set up in my kids' boxes and they prefer icewm.

Since having installed dwm in my workhorse laptop, I find myself using dwm more and more and fluxbox less and less. I really like speed and convenience of dwm. Also, it seems to run lighter than fluxbox (not that it's such a major concern in this laptop with plenty of resources).

I prefer IceWM because I am not a big right button clicker (or middle button - those two buttons were used a lot in the early days of X but not much in the desktop environments today). I have no problem with Fluxbox, though; I can get around in it just fine. With antiX I use it on occasion, especially when I am running one of my older instances of antiX, but I do prefer the current release with IceWM as the default and the outstanding environment that surrounds it.

Where is the voting button? __{{emoticon}}__ I'm outvoted!

XFCE!

I have used most of what's out there. I started with kde, tried gnome(hated it) and played with fluxbox and icewm. When antix came around I really got into fluxbox and figure out how to chop and drop it, it's pretty cool. When John's(OU812) rendition of IceWM come out I loved it and still have it running on my wife's box and my server.

I ran xfce on and off throughout my Linux adventure and always seem to come back to it for some reason. It's now my main desktop and it works sweet on antix. I still have flux and ice on hand though.

I think I voted earlier, but never posted.

I like John's Icewm a lot. But since I don't run many apps on my antiX laptop, it's a lot easier for me to use fluxbox with wbar. I could never get the taskbar in Icewm to behave the way I wanted it to with wbar; I didn't persist with it.

I love wbar, but it would never do on my mepis desktop; I keep too much"stuff" on my desktop. LOL!

I'm mainly using the default fluxbox and icewm. But I keep wandering into new worlds like Window-Maker, which was fun for a while because configuring it is like playing in a theme park. But lately I've gone for JWM because I've been using it in DSL and I've wanted to find the lightest WM anywhere. But frankly I don't see any real performance jump from either flux or ice. And online evaluations of these are pretty inconsistent. I wonder if anyone agrees on what WM is actually the lightest of all...?
