After the last update (kernel, streamlight, etc...) I had some problems:

1- After update the 4.4.10 kernel the wifi is now down after boot. I have to go to Wicd, stop wifi, update and connect manually.

2- Streamlight is missing

3- I tried to install the 4.6.2 kernel from metapackage, however it's not possible.

I started the report of this issues on this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6871

but maybe is better one new thread.

Any advice?

Thanks

Added by Rok. So one does not have to click between threads to get all the info.
Below is a direct quote from the link provided in this thread. I'll leave the other thread alone. __{{emoticon}}__

Now I have not wifi when boot. I have to stop wifi in wicd, search and connect (fortunatelly with succes).

I tried to install the 4.6.2 kernel from metapackages and I am not able.

This is the output:

Code: Select all

/tmp/temp_aptgetcall.yBceOH: línea 7: /usr/share/install-meta/Kernel-antiX_32bit_4.bm: No existe el fichero o el directorio

Edit:

Sorry, one other issue. The streamlight icon dissapeared, however it is enabled:

from .desktop-session:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/bash
# Puts a volume icon on the taskbar
volumeicon &

# Place an icon for streamlight in the taskbar tray
streamlight-gui-launcher.sh --icon &

Use the locate command or apt-cache policy command to see what happened to streamlight.

I am not awake yet to reply to the wicd issue. But running wicd from command line may give you some error messages to work with.

Code: Select all

Thank you rokytnji.

I think the problem is not wicd, maybe is a new conflict with the b43 driver. Could be possible?

This is what my / etc/modprobe.d/broadcom-sta-dkms.conf looks like:

#blacklist b43legacy
blacklist b44

blacklist wl

Yeah. It won't be the 1st time a module was left out or hanging in a AntiX kernel build.
Wait for Anti to read this thread. I only mention this because when I used to test kernels here.

I would find bugs relating to wifi after a fresh Anti kernel build.

Edit. Also wait for Shay to respond. He is pretty Broadcom wifi hip on this ind of issue also and may know how to set up your blacklist file.

2 and 3 are being fixed upstream. there will be new debs.

For 2 to fix before the upgrade deb hits the repos, navigate to /usr/local/bin in rox-filer and right click on the streamlight script - > Properties - Check all 3 Exec boxes. Do this to both streamlight scripts.

For 3, you can install that kernel using apt-get or via synaptic.

- Streamlight: SOLVED
- Wifi issue: SOLVED with the 4.6.2 kernel (via synaptic)

Thank you very much anti!
