I'm running Antix8 test 1 (not public test) in my laptop, and I was fooling around with the menu items.

Clicked on webcam and I saw the laptop cam flash a couple of times but nothing happened. In a terminal, I typed xcam, and I got this message: Segmentation fault.

This is my first time trying to get the camera to work. Any help will be appreciated.

thanks.

as a follow up, I paid closer attention to the msg during boot up and noticed the following:

uvcvideo: failed to initialized at 145....or something like this since it was scrolling fast.

Any thoughts on how to fix uvcvideo?

Thanks.

Thanks for the link, Anti.

I installed one of the applications suggested, cheese, and my webcam works fine using cheese.

However, xcam still does not do anything. I thought it was a stand-alone app??

Thanks

uvcvideo is USB Video class. It's the driver foe usb web cams. The driver may not be loading or may be corrupt somehow. Unfortunately I'm not much more help than that.
