Hi friends...! __{{emoticon}}__

I am using AntiX-13.2 on desktop PC with Pentium 4 1.7 GHz processor, Nvidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400 graphics, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB swap and 13 GB HD, and work fine!

Do would be possible use xorg 1.12 (xserver-xorg-core Debian package) on AntiX-16 instead of xorg 1.16 while using AntiX-16 own packages?

(Excuse me for my English use __{{emoticon}}__ ).

I would think that is not possible. IIRC antiX-13.2 uses that version of xorg (wheezy based)

If you have a compelling reason to use x.org 1.12 with antiX 16 you could use Core and install an earlier version of x.org from Debian Packages...that might work, but it may not be possible.

Thanks for reply @anticapitalista and @spaceman.

I thought the same, but wanted to know the opinion of experts.

My reason is that installed the propietary nvidia-96.43.23 driver from Nvidia website for performance maximum, with Yasara-View app (advanced 3D molecular viewer). This driver version is very old, is not upgradeable and work with X.org =<1.12 only. Even I had to use the Debian kernel 3.2 instead antix kernel 3.7.

And I like use the news features in AntiX-16, such as desktop change without log out.

spaceman is good idea use AntiX Core and build the system from here.

It would probably be easier to move the antiX scripts and programs to 13.2, then to try and move xorg and the like to version 16.
Most likely they should be in debs in the antiX repo in which case you may be able to Purge the 13.2 debs and scripts followed by installing the version 16 debs. Myself I would load / extract / mount the version 16 image and rsync / copy the scripts you like from usr/local/bin, etc/, skel, lib, etc to the same location in 13.2. Likely most will work but not the startup / live / usb stuff as far as I know. It would also mean manually updating every time there is a package update. It might also be worth exploring options like mounting usr/local/bin from version 16 in version 13.2 and copying over only the configuration files. That way you could update v16 and at the same time (hopefully) update the antiX scripts in the 13.2 install
