I am running this baby live. Wow, I blink and the wonderful antiX team comes out with yet another release!

I've been doing quite a bit with my antiX Core instance and my antiX 13.1 Base instance; both are running well and up to date, so I did not install this particular release; instead I am running it live, and as I have come to expect, it worked perfectly the first time for me.

My configuration and setup as shown by our handy tool (thanks to 'h2' (Harold Hope) and trash80 (Scott Rogers), my buddies. __{{emoticon}}__

yesterday evening I dist-upgrade form 13.1 to 13.2 without problem.

first I dist-upgrade, later I modify the sources list to Sid because in 13.2 they point to stable (boring __{{emoticon}}__ )
and later I do another dist-upgrade and now my dell fly ...

I always use smxi.
I forget to make a copy of ./fluxbox menu but is simply to edit by hand

I just noticed a bug in sgfxi

I don't think this is a sgfxi bug. Do a:

cat /proc/version

That will tell you what version of gcc was used to compile the kernel and modules. You need to have this same version of gcc available in order to compile a new nvidia.ko module.

If the version of gcc that was used to make the kernel is not on your system then you will need to install it.

is a guide for dealing with multiple versions of gcc on Ubuntu. I think these instructions will work on any Debian system.

I ran into my first issue with 13.2. I don't know about the rest of you, but if I leave Iceweasel running while my system is idle for a number of hours, there is an excellent chance that Noscript will generate dialog boxes that can really add up. I actually killed the browser and restarted it; that was easier than dealing with all of the Noscript dialog boxes. Personally, I use a combination of Firewall protection and Adblock Edge and I generally run Firefox or Seamonkey rather than their Ice (Debian equivalents) and I do not have this issue, but I do not use Noscript; it tends to get in my way and I tend to want to allow scripts to run. I deal with issues using the mechanisms above and have never had a problem, but backups, multiple OS instances, and replacements are all viable options for me.

But just so you know, I'd shut down your Iceweasel browser when you are away from the system, otherwise Noscript will tend to spit out dialog box messages and possibly even hose up an otherwise idle Iceweasel instance.

I forgot to repost since the last time I was here. I got 13.2 up and running on my P III system. I reburned my .iso at 4X and now get all my machines to run it LIVE. And I installed it onto the P III. I made a minor adjustment with my swap file using a 1 Gb drive as sdb, but using the entire drive as swap. Imagine! Using a 996 Mhz Pentium III with 512 Mb mobo memory with a 1 GB SWAP file. The only time my cpu usage hits 100% is when I start a YouTube video.

Antx 13.2 is lean and mean. Customizeable to the MAX. And down right easy to work in.

And I want to thank dolphin for his YT vids. I've directed people to them to help them learn too. THANKS! __{{emoticon}}__

Whether we get an updated base or not (though I believe we will) you can certainly install any 13 release and update and you'll be up to date in fairly short order if you have a broadband network, as most (but not all) of us do.

Well, that depends on the machine as well as the connection. When I installed 13.2 on my laptop (300 MHz Pentium II) it took about ten minutes to download around 1000 packages -- and more than three hours to install them all (and there are a few spots, at the beginning and around 80% finished, where it needs user input or it'll just sit there and wait).

S.O - But, you were going from antiX-full Wheezy to antiX-full testing so you should expect loads of downloads.
If you had stayed with Wheezy (default) then the downloads would have been in their tens.
