IBM A22M P3 512 MB ram. Same cd I posted with earlier. I tried in complete combinations. F7=safe. F4=acpi=off. Typed in pci=noaer, nomsi also.

Code: Select all

Code: 22 39 d9 75 2f 8b 48 08 83 f9>then repeats itself for a couple of lines
EIP: [< c12e2c4c7 >] pci match_id+0x5c/ox90 SS:ESP 0068 : dfr3deb0
---[ end trace f74f031967a1d4b3 ]---

Kernel Panic-Not Syncing-attempted to kill init

Kernel Offset: blah blah blah Exit Kernel Panic-Not Syncing-Attempted to Kill init
Best I can do for reporting Kernel error Anti. Tried all the cheats I read so far.
Not a good report or test because I am jumping back and forth from computing to wrenching.

Some findings during testing:

ITEM | STATE | DETAILS
menu -> tools -> add .desktop items | BROKEN | Needs to point to add-desktop or be removed (as add-desktop is under / desktop)

menu -> desktop -> ... | REQUEST | Add-desktop exists but the reverse (remove-desktop) does not, I probably neglected it first time around but maybe should be added.

usr/local/bin/desktop-session | UPDATED | Newer version of desktop-session (to remove bugs roky experienced (100% cpu ramp) / fix conky loading from desktop-session / first time startup window removed & script call fixed) (desktop-session-14-6)... leaving this open for other improvements but will send over.

Control Center | Request Update | Change hard linked text editors / terminals to desktop-defaults-run variants like in the menu

INSTALL | BROKEN | Need an install button somewhere... I cannot seem to find in the menu / desktop
menu -> personal -> * | BROKEN | Items seem to be hardset. I know this was mentioned before and I thought I had a fix... but I guess not so a fix is on the way __{{emoticon}}__

remove-desktop | BROKEN | Makes duplicate entries for removal under personal menu. Have a fixed copy, waiting to hear if any other problems.

Edited by Rok so could read it. Sorry Dave.

Another computer,another report.

Posting this from MX-14.2 non-pae. AntiX 14R a2 successfully boots but the cpu is continually maxed out at 100%,even idling at the desktop. Basically unusable. MX-14.2 idles at 2%.

Don't feel alone. I ran into this during testing before and Dave is aware this may still happen. I ran htop to see what was sucking up cpu and reported back to Dave what it was when it happened to me.

Testing on Dell Inspiron 8100 PIII m

F7 - S 1024 x 758

do_IRQ: 0.32 No irq handler for vector (irq -1)

Testing on Dell Latitude D620 Core 2 Duo T5500

Booted ok

antiX installer only appearing on menu sometimes

JWM looks much nicer than 13.2

CPU went wild 100% after trying to get WiFi running via ceni and wicd

Applications menu empty sometimes

Installed ok once I found an installer icon

Alpha 3 and 4 both boot to a desktop but 100% cpu makes them basically not usable.
